1: Today I Learned that Michael Jackson's Thriller album was the best-selling album in the U.S. for 2 years straight, sold 32 million copies worldwide by 1983, and was certified 34x Platinum by the RIAA in 2021, making it one of only two albums to ever get more than 3x Diamond certified.

2: Some car commercials are done with CGI. This is done because these commercials are often shot before the cars have been manufactured. Also, it’s much harder to move these cars to the shooting locations. They use a vehicle called the Mill Blackbird for the CGI.

3: Caffeine is a banned substance by the NCAA. A urinary caffeine concentration exceeding 15 micrograms per milliliter (corresponding to ingesting about 500 milligrams, roughly 6 to 8 cups of brewed coffee, two to three hours before competition) results in a positive drug test.

4: The famous “Halloween” theme by John Carpenter actually originated from an exercise his father taught him on the Bongos in 1961, the beating out of 5-4 times. He transposed the technique to the piano, and thus the theme song was born. Three days later, Carpenter had the entire soundtrack done.

5: Lincoln Center could reward David Geffen's $100 Million donation by renaming "Avery Fisher Hall" to "David Geffen Hall", they had to pay the heirs of Fisher - the original donor - $15 million. Geffen's donation has a provision that requires his name to be on the hall "in perpetuity".

6: Eric Clapton used skinny strings back in the 60's so they were easy to bend. He, therefore, broke strings every evening and would spend time between songs changing and tuning to the slow hand clap of the adoring audience. Hence his nickname: Eric SLOWHAND Clapton

7: The first confirmed victim of Takata airbags was 18y/o Parham. As she drove around a car park, she lightly bumped another vehicle making the airbag inflate, sending metal pieces at a such tremendous force that one hit the teen’s neck slicing open her carotid artery. She bled to death in her seat
